heisler overdrive

history ,parts book, repair manual, are there any parts available,I have one I would like to install,I need to make the handle.I would like to go through it clean it and reseal it before install. thank you.

I'll be upfront, my knowledge of the Heisler OD is limited to having transported one from one friend's hose to another's and a thread the recipient put up while looking for parts. Given the paucity of responses, I'll offer the little I do know.

I think you'd be pretty lucky to find a manual or a parts list for it.

From what I understand it's a fairly sraightforward unit and not hard to disassemble. As the IH manuals sometimes used to say, the engineering will be "readily apparent" once you get inside it. To the extent that you find it needs seals or bearings, you can try crossing numbers off of them, or take them to a good NAPA counterman who can measure them up for replacement.

As for particulars like shimming or the dimensions (are you looking to fab up the lever or the rod to operate it), maybe someone wwith experience who knows more about them will still chime in but, if you're reasonably capable mechanically, I wouldn't be afraid of opening it up for a look see.
