Super M question

I'm sure we have been down this road many times but please bear with me. Does a Super M have to have disc brakes? I was at a sale today and saw a good running (sold as SM) with OK but not great tires and Farmhand loader (of no value to me) nf sell for 950 CDN. At the time I thought the tractor was being misrepresented, but now my mind is telling me I'm wrong, and should have bid. 560 DSL Wheatland with decent rubber, ran and started well sold for 1000 CDN. That didn't bother me, I don't have fond memories of 560's. The 3 vintage JD's (70, 720 and H) sold very well. This was a regular farm auction.

Sounds like an undervalued auction, or sign of the times, If you bought that SM and sold the loader, you could have the tractor for almost free.

Hello,
I am not sure of the dollar differnce but if you doubled 950 CDN that would be cheap for any M around here in dollars. the last few auctions I have been to everything sold very high.
Good Luck Ed

This Super M was in Canada. Could it have been an imported British built Super BM? The British built Super BM had the same motor as the Super M but they came out with banded brakes. Have a look at the serial number plate and it will read SBM before the serial number.
