Super M transmission differences

We are trying to determine the difference in ground speed between a Super M in low gear at standard RPM's vs. Farmall M. There appear to be different transmission gears in the two models & we are trying to identify which model has the greater ground speed.

I have 53 Super M, gears are same as M. I think they changed gearing on the last year or two of production with the faster 4th gear and they put battery in different location. others can correct me if i'm wrong.

1st gear is the same, 2nd ,3rd and 4th are faster in a SM.

Unless the optional low low first gear is installed in one of the tractors the first gear ratio is the same for M and SM.

IH did have a option for lower speed gears.

Just a wild guess, I think 4th on sm is about 5 1/4 and on 4 3/4 on the M. 2 nd & 3rd being a little faster on the SM than the M with 1st & 5th the same.
