Super A Wiring

On my SA when I got it someone had converted it to 12 volts and did a poor job and it has never worked,it has a Magneto so I just hand crank and use it as is. I would like to get it up and charging, but in the conversion they converted the starter over to a push button type. I reviewed farmall bob"s diagrams and they don"t really address what I have. My question is when I rewire how do I wire up the starter button? I am sure that from the diagrams I can get everything else but this has me stumped.
Thanks Jay

Has the mechanical switch on your starter been removed and replaced with a solenoid?

A starter relay used for this purpose is about twice the volume of a Kodak film can. usually on or near the starter. It will have at least 3 terminals on it, Two large terminals, and one (or two) small. The small will be closer to one of the big terminals than the other. I will call this big terminal Relay term-1. If it has 2 small terminals, you will not use the one labeled "I", and the S terminal will be close to the Relay term -1 mentioned above.
Attach the battery positive to this big terminal. Connect the other big terminal to the starter motor heavy terminal.
From the small terminal (Might have an S near it) a #14 wire goes to one terminal of a SPST momentary contact push button switch. From that switch's other terminal a 14ga wire connects to the amp meter load side. The other side of the amp meter is connected to the battery with a 10ga wire that goes to the Relay term-1. (I like to put a 40 amp fuse link in this wire as a system fuse, it can be purchased at NAPA)

The exciter terminal on the alternator (Numbered 1 on the alternator)is connected to a pressure switch "T"ed into the oil gallery where the oil pressure gauge line is connected. This switch turns on with pressure, and has two terminals.
One cannects to the alt #1, the other connects to the Load side of the amp gauge. The big wire (10ga) from the big alt terminal goes to the load side of the amp gauge as well. The #2 terminal on the altconnects with a small #14 wire to the big terminal on the alternator (It is very short. Good luck, JimN
