Farmall Super M - Schwartz Wide Front

Possibly dumb question:

Will a Schwartz wide front that came off a JD 60 fit on a Super M Farmall. Better yet, look at the photo ad from Seguin Texas with the wide front for sale. Thanks.

Not sure if it would fit, but it might be able to fit with some modifications.

It may fit by luck. I really don't know. I know I ordered a new one for my Super M and many different tractors had many different adapter plates. It took ages to get it, it kept getting back ordered. If you can get it bought right, a good welding shop may be able to get you in business.

No. Many of the parts are the same, but the parts that actually fasten to the tractor are specific to either the John deere 60 or the Farmall M. The parts to change it over are readily available, and I can get them for you, but depending on the price you pay for the used wide front, it might be just as economical to purchase a new unit designed to fit your tractor.
