H water pump flange pully

I have to replace the water pump flange pully on my H because it's cracked at the set screw allowing to much slack in the fan belt.

1.Would it be easier to remove the front end or just remove the radiator?

2. Should the water pump oil seals (Part # 51 492 DA) be replaced? I think they should. The reason I ask is because I have not been able to find any company that carries them in my search so far. A lot of companies carry the flange pully but no other components.

3. Are people not replacing any other components when they replace the flange pully?

4. Is there any other parts I should replace at this time?

Yes you will want to replay both oil seals and if the felt washer is in bad shape I would replace it too. You might also want to replace the packing (45 925 DA) behind the brass nut on the impeller shaft which is right under the fan. I just rebuilt mine and did not replace this packing. But I might wish I did once I get it back on. You can get those seals from NAPA or CASE/IH dealer for about 12 bucks a piece. You can get the water pump off without removing the radiator. Nothing on the pump goes inside the block which would require room to pull it out.

I would replace both oil seals both pilot bearings and the packing. You should also inspect the impeller and the landing on the bottom end. I normally face those parts off on the lathe so they are true running which also means the impeller may need shaved off to clear the pump when it"s finished.
