Farmall Super AV need help

i went today to look at a highcrop super AV Its been sitting for bout a year but it has been covered up. it has all the peices there just not the cults for it. it isnt runnin right now but i think all it needs is gas and a new battery. the engine is not cracked and the anti-freeze is green like it suppose to be. the guy who is sellin it dont know how much he wants for it. he just wants a offer made. how much do yall think i should offer him. thanks for help yall can give me
also it is convered to a 12 volt and the tires are in desent shape

I am assuming the engine is not stuck..... if it were a reguar Super A in that NON-running condition I would say $900 - $1,100. How badly do you want a High-Crop? What premium would you pay? That is a personal decision that only you can answer.
For me, a high crop SA is not that big a deal; they are a little unique but they tip over much easier. Heck, I worry enough about my regular Super A turning over with me! An H or M high crop is much more rare and your friends will call you "Tree-Top"; not that I want one of those either. Hope this helps. mike

I have had a Super AV for over 10 years but have never tipped it over. How many times have you tipped your Super A?

does the same cultivators go on the Super AV and a regular Super A. or do i need special high crop cultivators? if so anybody out there got any for sell.

I have both A Super A and Super AV with cultivators. Not all the parts are interchangeable. The AV144 msnual gives parts numbers that are different from rhe A144 parts. Some of the parts are the same. There some cultivators listed currently in the Louisiana Market Bulletin for both the Super A and Super AV.

Vacherie: I'm very happy you've never tipped over your AV. But, that doesn't mean an AV won't turn over fairly easy. The fact is, they have a higher center of gravity than a regular A, a much higher center of gravity than an "N" series Ford, and somewhat of a reputation for being easy to turn over.
I have never turned over my SA either. I am in "hilly" country though, and I try to be careful.
It does not hurt to warn somebody of the traits of a particular tractor - especially one they may not be familiar with. mike
