1947 Farmall H Loader Hydraulic Piston Seals - Can't seem to find replacement seals for both pistons on the Model H loader. Had a local firm jerry-rig two of them from specs on old one but they still leaked. Would appreciate any information as to where I can find replacement seals for the loader. Thanks.

I have one like it. I got all the parts I needed from CNH. It cost about $50 per side and was fairly easy to do. You need to figure out whether it's a #30 or 31 loader; if you still have a number tag on one of the cylinders, your parts man can tell.
Good luck,
Ed
P.S. if you need help with the project, drop me a line.

Thank you for the info, Ed. So far I have found nothing on the internet so your response was a welcome. I am hoping to replace them this fall to get my dock out of the water.

I have one of the seals from one cylinder I replaced. The other still has the original (to my knowledge). Can you tell the model number (#30 or #31) from the original seal? If you changed your seals would you recognize a photo of it?

Yours looks like a #30. We have a #31, & it is different around the front end. I thought both loaders used the same cylinders---but someone else on here might have different info.
Are you needing the cup seals at the back, or the v-packings at the front?

Good luck finding your parts for your loader. I'm still trying to find the cups and seals for my #30 loader and have not had much luck yet.

Just found the IH number for the cup seal from looking back through previous posts. Number is 450665 R2. The V-packings are 450658 R2---this is the info I found, anyway.

Were you able to find this listed on any web site that I can reference? I tried a number of internet searches but couldn't come up with anything. Is this an IH part number or a loader brand name part number?

How can you tell which power loader I have - a Model 30 or Model 31? I want to order a manual but I'm not sure which one. This is a similar photo to the one posted earlier from another internet website. Thanks

he one in this picture is a model 30. On a 31 the cross bar right in front of the operator is turned flat instead of standing on edge as this one is.

SPO, if yours is a model 30, email me at [email protected]

Andy,
I got the parts and installed them already. What a difference. The parts were ordered through CARTER & GRUENWALD CO, Inc, Brooklyn, WI. 608-455-2411. I have the #30 loader. The gasket was #450672R2 and the two seals were #450665R2 at www.external_link Good luck.
