H front wheel bearing grease retainer

I’ve got my H’s front bolster looking brand new with new seals and paint. However I found my left front wheel hubs does not have any bearing grease retainers in it. The right one has both inner and outer grease retainers. I ordered them through Case/IH. These grease retainers go inside of the bearing cups. Can I just tap the inner and outer bearing cups out from the opposite side of the hub so I can get the grease retainers in behind them? Or is their something else holding the bearing cups in? Thanks

I always damage these grease retainers when I remove the bearing races. I have never put new ones back as most trailer wheel bearings now days do not use them. They will fall out when you take out the bearing races. Roger

Be sure and clean out all the old grease and you will see some notches on the casting behind the bearing race to enable you to tap out the races.
