rototiller behind super A

Just wondering if anyone has tried using a 4 foot rototiller behind a super a? HP rating on rototiller says 15-40 hp tractor to run it. I would run it in my garden soft soil, not like I would be breaking new ground.I would like to know before I buy it and can't run it?

epolk: You will be quite disappointed, Super A has too high speed in 1st gear. The absence of live PTO will also cause you some grief.

I agree with Hugh, A very low speed gear is needed or Hydrostatic trans (best). When moved too fast they do a poor job and require multiple passes. That size when moved too fast will also bog the engine when placed at depth. JimN

I'd imagine that the rototiller probably wouldn't dig at all, to tell you the truth.

I don't know how well it would work, but putting the tractor in neutral and riding the brakes, letting the tiller push you forward, might be an idea. It ought to work in soft easy-digging soils, anyway.

I agree with that...it probably would push you depending on what kind of tiller it is...I would only use one on tilled or atelast plowed ground.
