Anyone ever used Lucas hydraulic oil additive

Wondering what anyone might have to say about the hydraulic oil product from Lucas. Anyone ever used it with Hytran compatible fluid?

No, but I saw it take out some hiccups out of a 700R transmission. I know it went over 100,000 miles after the additive. I like Lucas products.

Hytran is an excellent hydraulic oil, definitely needs no additive. Are you one of those guys adicted to additives? Most additives are little more than snake oils designed to relieve folks of their hard earned dollars.

Nah not an addiction. :) I've got an IH 2000 loader on a 330U and one of my loader cylinders is a bit leaky. The price of a pail of tractor juice has me considering the Lucas hydraulic oil additive which claims to be a stop leak also. I'd like to think I will find time to fix the cylinder before snow flies but in the mean time I need to be bringing in all the firewood I have on the ground.

If it will stop a cylinder from leaking, I'd hate to see what it will do to the pump, pressure relief valve, filter and control valves.

Yeah kinda like radiator stop leak plugging the tubes in your radiator while fixing the leak. Of course if I have the time to pester Lucas about this I should spend it figuring out how to repack my leaking cylinder.

I preformed some hydraulic work on my Farmall 504 lately and put in 2 gallons of LUCAS Hydraulic Booster and Stop Leak. I have a new pump, cleaned the relief and flow divider, as well as rebuilt my remote valves. My loader works better and the steering is now awsome. Snake oil, maybe. Works, definatly.

That's the stuff. 2 gallons hey! How much was that vs what the system holds. CNH said my reservoir is about 9 gallons.

I had used one gallon at first and things improved after a few days of baling hay. I later drained the oil to replace the hydraulic pump. The directions say use up to 20% for compensation for wear or for prevenative maintenance on new. So... I refiled the system with 10 gallons or tractor fluid and installed new filters and one gallon of Lucas. All was well but I have a leak at the quadrant levers and figured why not. So... I added one more gallon to top off the oil. My leak has slowed down, but not gone (46 years old). One day I will tear into it and repair.

My system holds more than stock due to the loader cylinders.
