674 hydraulic problem update

I have a 674 International that has a hydraulic problem. It has set up for a few years and the 3 pt hitch would not raise. I started by changed fluid and filter. I took mcv off and cleaned it good, took unloading valve off and cleaned it real good. Both of these looked fine. One O ring was bad in the MCV, I replaced it. The 3 pt hitch will raise now. I have lost my brakes though. I guess I need to bleed them off. Not sure of where to do that though. When you raise the 3 pt hitch, it will come up fine, then start slowly leaking down, then you can pull the remote lever up and it will hold fine. Does this mean that I need to take the remote valve apart and clean it? I am not sure what the remote lever positions are? (up is engage?, etc...). I also have fluid coming out around the steering wheel, I'm thinking this is just a bad seal on the pump. I need all the help I can get, thanks in advance.

We had problems with the hydraulics on our 684 (similar).It ended up bing emergency brake material clogging up the system.Everyting seemed to work fine when it went up hill.On level no brakes or 3 point.

Hi Adam, to bleed the brakes. There is a bleeder screw on top of each rear axle, looks like a grease zerk.
Require clean bucket and 1/4 or 5/16 inch clear tubing that will fit over bleed screw nipple.
To bleed the brakes run the tractor until the Hytran hydraulic fluid reaches operating temperature.
Run engine at fast idle 1400-1600 RPM, block rear wheels.
1)With tubing connected to nipple on bleed screw and other end in clean bucket, loosen bleed screw and let hydraulic fluid drain until air bubble free, then close bleed screw. Repeat on other brake. Do not pump brakes while bleeding.

Top up hydraulic fluid with fluid caught in bucket, make sure transmission fluid level is full or over full. Also check for leaks by bottom of dash and along top of transmission cover. Brake lines run from under battery box along top of transmission to rear axles.
May have to repeat bleeding and if bleeding only lasts a few days then repost and I will give a procedure to diagnose if it is leaking seals in brake piston.

Re remote lever, center is neutral, down toward foot rest is hi pressure on one remote line and return on the other, up toward 3pt control lever puts hi pressure on the other remote line (was return) and return on the other line (was pressure).

Hi, may be the unload valve is stuck. Check with engine running, raise the hitch and pull at the same time the remote lever. If the hitch raises, you have dirt in the unload valve. This valve is under the seat and you remove the large plug for access. One trick, loosen the large plug, unload valve, 2 turns and start the engine, the hitch should raise if the valve is stuck. It has a small hole in the valve and just blow dirt out with compressed air. Replace with new O rings.

Hi TDK, on the 574 tractor, like 74 and 84,85,95 series, it has a Danfoss steering valve. You have to remove all the valve from the tractor and open the valve to change the seal. Some part inside have to be timed, so if you haven't opened a Danfoss valve before, good luck. Best way, take the valve to a CaseIh dealer and ask to change the seal. To install the seal, you need a special tool. Be careful when you remove the steering wheel, don't blow on the shaft with a hammer, remove the wheel with a puller. I have done many seal change when I have worked for CaseIh dealer.
