Mower Deck Color Opinions Hugh's Color Choice

I am looking for some opinions on what color deck would look good hanging under my Super A.

I included a before and after pic of the SA and a pic of Hugh's Super A with a deck painted with what I believe is IH #935 White. I guess Hugh's color choice is correct? Would a light grey look better? Or do you all prefer the white? Opinions please?

Hard to beat white. May be a little hard to keep looking clean though.

I've always been partial to Woods orange.

I agree with mkirsch, woods orange would look the best.

Scott: If I had it to do over, I'd stick with Woods orange. After a summer's use the white shows every bit of dirt I acquired while mowing. My mower never looked as bad when it was orange.

The orginal Woods colors are Woods orange for the right hand mowers, and Woods white for the Left hand mowers. Most of the mowers for the Super A, etc are the left hand mowers and thus the correct color would be white. The white on Hugh's mower looks whiter than the IH white which is more of a cream color. The IH white I think though is a little whiter than the original color from Woods which looks to me to be almost a tan. I used IH white when I refurbished my Woods L59 mower that is on my IH 140. I got decals through a Woods dealer which by the way were quite expensive, incomplete and not like the originals. I did not inquire regards the paint color and paint is not listed in my manual, except to say left hand mowers are white.

Haas: That white paint I used was paint I had left over from painting a Buick car. It had been kicking around 7-8 years, and I decided to use it up. I looked at the possibility of Woods paints for for final coats, and I guess that option is still open to me. My experience, one can put almost any color over white, and it will look decent.

IH had three whites:

IH-901 White (Cream color with a tint of green to it)
IH-902 Whitecap White (Plain White)
IH-935 White (Cream color, What you get at the IH dealer now days)

I think 'McCormick' blue would look nice. Sorta like the cutivators would be.

Hugh, you sound like me regards paint colors, especially if its something to be used for real work, as is my Woods mower. Mechanical function is more important to me than paint. That's why I did not even look into the correct woods color for my mower. Just used what I had which was the IH white.
