Farmall interest

I currently own a '48 Case LA that needs a little work and I can not find any parts, info, etc. Anyway, I've been looking for another tractor and Farmall's seem to be in plentiful supply around here. Recently we were passing through Alamosa Colorado and saw the biggest display of Famall's I've ever seen. I do like the styling of the row crops, especially the Super M, though that's a little larger than what I need. So, what I've been considering is finding a nice Farmall to use while I fix up the 'ol LA. Which Farmall would you look for if you were in the market for one? Basically, I need something bigger than the cub, and smaller than the Super M. Something along the lines of the H. Basically I need it for mowing and pulling a grain drill for 20 acres. What is important is the availability of parts. Any suggestions? I've just started researching, but would appreciate any advice on what to look for, should one pop up. Thanks!

I think more H's were made than any other tractor ever. So parts are there. And an H sounds like it will do what you want it to. But I hear good things about the Super C as a smaller working tractor.

Just a thought, where it sounds like you actually want to try and get some work done with this tractor you might be further ahead to investigate a 300 or 350. Basically an H with a little more oomph but more importantly most of the came with live hydraulics and live PTO which I imagine you'll find benficial. Sam

Thanks all for the great advice - and quick. I do like the styling and hydraulics of the 300 & 350. There was a nice Super M not too long ago that I saw advertised close by, and it"s what really got me considering the Farmall tractors. I"ll let you know what I find. There was a small one (I forget which one) that had the offset steering - threw me for a loop! Thanks again for the help.

H is the way to go.. Parts are very easy to get, and there is a lot of H's around... You could even get a Super H. If you want a little more power.. But remeber once you go red you'll never want to run anything else.. Just kidding.. Good luck in your search.
