Difference between D-407 and DT-407

I have an 856 that has the DT-407....at least the engine serial is DT-407 but it doesn't have a turbo. That's why I'm wondering. It was built in 1971. Did they just take a turbo engine and not put a turbo on it for the 856?

I may be wrong about this but I'm pretty sure the DT407 has a different crank and perhaps a different head. I think it all has to do with increase lubrication and cooling. The guy to answer this question is The Tractor Vet. He can tell you.

A turbocharged engine should have DTT 407 in the serial number on the block. I'm not sure on the 407 but the 400 series engines used one piston cooling oil jet per piston on non turboed engines and two jets per piston on the turboed engines. I believe the oil cooler is larger on the turboed engines.
