Like most, my SC hasn't had a battery box in umpteen years. I decided to install one as part of my restoration, and bought one of those one-piece, made in who-knows-where, $80 boxes (with lid).
It's pretty rough, but I think I can work with it. The mounting tabs were still left on the torque tube, and are way too short to reach to the tabs welded on the bottom of the box, that stick out past the side. The pictures in my operating manual show bolts on those tabs that also hold wires in addition to securing the box.
I can obviously make some new (longer) mounting brackets going to the torque tube, but wonder if anyone has come up with any other great ideas when fitting these boxes.
Thanks,
Doug
