F-20 Road Gear

Hi all, I'm changing the oil in the Behlen road gear on my '38 F-20. Will 80-90 gear lube work for the road gear?

Good heavens, NO!

On that high-tech, low HP, slow-turning application, use nothing less than synthetic Unobtainium-2000 high-speed gear lube, with the XP-4 additive.

Dont know why not the 80-90 wt wouldnt work as thats what they had when they were new. That was in the days before the snake oil people were born.
