M-valve adjustment questions

Couple questions about setting the valves on an M. First, does anybody sell a rubber type valve cover gasket? All I could find are the cork ones but I thought a rubber one like they have for the Chevy 350s would be the way to go.

Second, what do I set the valves at when the engine is cold? I already had the valve cover off once now and it leaks like a seive so I cant run it again to warm it up.

Third, whats the tube that runs from front to back over top of the rocker arms? Is it an air tube or a water/antifreeze tube? Almost looks like an air tube and I either have a small dent or a rust hole near the front of the motor. Is the tube replaceable or repairable? If its a water tube, can I solder it like a copper pipe in a house?

Is there anything else I should look for or at while I have the valve cover off? It looks pretty clean but I am new to the tractor engines.

Thanks for the help.

The tube is part of the closed cranckcase ventilation system. Set the valves at .020" to .022" cold. Don't know about a rubber gasket, probably someone makes it, but a new cork gasket will work just fine.
