Tractor Seat on 240 Utility

I have a 1959 240 Utility and the seat needs repair. I would rather have it refurbished and not have an aftermarket replacement. Any suggestions?

There is nothing left of the springs or filler. It"s a metal frame filled with burlap bags! It looks like it used to have metal springs and vinyle (black) covering. I would attempt a rebuild if had something to start with.

prolly be cheaper to buy replacements than to have a trim shop rebuild them. steiners has the seat back for 57.60, the bottom cushion for 89.95 and the metal frame for 54.95 or the whole assembly for 199.95.

Coax, I see from a previous post you have a 240. The only remnants I see are the ends of what used to be upholstery "no sag springs". What's the make of the cushion?

Coax, that last post should have said "make up" of the seat cushion. In other words what would be the replacement parts I would need to get.

To tell u the truth, i didn't like the ride of the original seat and mine was pretty punked out like yours so I redid mine kinda 1/2&1/2 I used a real cushy modern seat W/the metal backrest rebuilt w/ new covering...Let me do some looking at my stuff and i'll see if I can come up w/ some Pics of a original.....

Here's a picture of the original seat. I replaced it with a newer one. David............

This seat is from Agri Supply. Northern tool has them also. It's adjustable front to back and for different weights of operators. I still have the old seat but I don't know why. David................
