340 U Hydraulic Fitting size and type?

Reattaching hydraulics supply line to the 3pt hitch on a 340 utility. Does anyone know what the fitting type and/or size is of the port that the belly pump output hose attaches to at the hydraulic control block(in front of seat)?

There is currently no hose to go by, just a plastic pipe plug cross threaded in. The port looks to be 1-3/16 with a O-ring surface. Maybe a standard O-ring SAE-14 port is my best guess?

Wanted to ask before ordering fitting. The Case/Ih site has part numbers of the hose and filler plug but I have not been able to cross it to a description with port type or size.

thanks in advance, this forum has truely been a great source of advice and information.

I have a 340U also, but don"t recall the size off the top of my head. If it is an O-ring sealed fitting, it is therefore an ORB type. This reference will help decide what you"ve got:

Thank you sir!. Now that I know the type(ORB) and using the chart for the thread size 1-3/16 I have a 7/8 which is a size 14.

Now I can order fittings and get the right ones first time out. Buying hydraulic gear and fitting that are incorrect is a expensive waste.
The bookmark is excellent reference.

thank you......

Glad it helped.

I"ve bought fittings and hoses from these guys, and their prices are very good. Take a look at the rest of their site.

I have used www.discounthydraulichose.com before. They have an excellent assortment and good prices. I am going to order some tonight to finish my loader installation.

Is this the hose (#16) you are referring to?

Mine is leaking at both ends, and I'm afraid to ask the dealer how much a new one costs! Could a hydraulic hose place make a new one with the old fittings?

Yes, it that hose. The upper end of the hose is a standard fitting. The lower fitting (one that attaches to pump) may be unique.

Maybe someone else on the forum with more hydraulic experience would know if the hose is available in the aftermarket.

I was thinking of threading the hole in the lower cover and having a hose made up, but I didn't want to restrict flow or damage the cover. My hose is leaking out of the crimped ends, not the fittings, so I assume the fittings are good and can be re-used. At least I hope so.

Well when we replaced the supply hose on our 340U about four years ago that hose was $94. One for my 560 last spring was $120. Just to give your a rough idea.
