DT466 Engine Problems

Had the 3588 on the bagger for silage. Motor Sputtered once, like it was running out of fuel, ran normal for a few seconds, then labored, and died. Oil waters just changed, checked earlier that day. Did get the motor to turn over a couple times afterwards. Opinions on what happened? Any chance in heck that it will run again? Thanks

Does the engine act like it's hydro-locked? Pump perhaps? Spun bearing?

Had a 766D stop cold on me like that one time in a bean field. Was nothing more than a clogged air filter.

Sure hope it isn't serious.

Are you sure its getting fuel? Could be dirty fuel filters, blockage in the fuel tank. You didn't mentioned that it was knocking. Drain some of the oil from the pan and look for metal particles. Bearings may be ok if oil looks ok.
