As I am rewiring a 1949 Farmall Cub for the 3rd time, I am wondering what guage wire and what type of connectors a fella should use?
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you,
Lincoln

This is what I use, regardless of what type of tractor. Use 10ga on charging circuit from alt/gen to battery, use 12-14ga on lights, use 14ga on any other circuits to 15 amps. 16ga is good to 10 amps, but a little corrosion on a terminal lowers that value.

As for connections, I have two methods. Soldering is best, no substitue for quality soldering job. This is time consuming to solder each part. When I solder, I crimp first then solder the sta-kon terminals. The second method is to get some dielectric silicone grease and squirt some in EVERY fitting before you insert the wire and crimp. This helps drive away moisture and corrosion.

Anything less and you WILL revisit the wiring again, its just when. Personally I solder everything I can, use silicone grease and crimp the rest.
