normally am on ford site, own two smaller ford tractors for shredding. have a chance to buy a tractor that has been in the family for awhile so i am at a crossroad and cant decide what offer to make. know the tractor is at least25 years old and thats about it. will be going to look at the tractor this evening so was wondering where the serial number is located and if this will help determine the age of the tractor. am not sure of the size till later today but its a big one. any help in determing the age of this old workhouse is appreciated

Quite a few IH's have the serial plate on the left side of the clutch housing.
