F-20 questions

Guys -

Have opportunity to buy an F-20. Serial number 141268N. It is a narrow rear end. Has brake pedals, shutters, factory rubber on cast spokes wheels front & back, one rear tire is new, the other pretty close, fronts are useable, valves were reground, carb & mag rebuilt, clutch reworked, newer gas manifold, older weekend paint job but still looks nice, road gear.

What's this worth in your neighborhood, considering the economy these days? Please let me know kinda where you live for geographic reference.

Second question. One web site said this serial number was a 1940 tractor, others say 1939. I thought the F-series died in '39 ?

Thanx !

Pete

Your tractor was built in Feb of 1939.
It's worth whatever two guys agree upon. But do remember you can always pay more for a tractor that is closeby. That and the assurance of knowing your seller is invaluable. If you want the tractor I'd be writin' the check.

Pete: I looked up external_link. They do have 1940 serial numbers. So my opinion is that they were some 1940 Farmals F-20s.

tractor data is crap on the real old stuff.

its a 39 all they way :D

that tractor in my area would probably be around 1500-2000 give or take :?

I agree with Cowman. The narrow tread rear ends are the most desireable because they can fit on any trailer. Besides, the F-20 is the prettiest IH ever made!! Bo
