Oil Filter On Farmall 'C'

Hello Folks! While working on a Farmall 'C', I noticed the oil filter is just a metal canister with holes in it. It does not have a typical disposable filter inside. Is this how it was designed or is the actual filter missing? Thanks in advance folks!!

You are missing the oil filter. Sounds like all you have is the outer shell.

Make sure you dig out all the old gasket. Usually two in there. Only supposed to be one, the new one that comes with the filter.

That is the filter. It goes inside the canister. Guts must be wore out of it.

Shoulda said goes inside the cover. The older ones were all metal on the outside of the filter iteself, now just a carboard like materail, although I think the Wix filter is still all metal.
