Remote outlet flow adjustment

I have an IH 966 and when I use the remote it seems to take quite a while to raise especially if the tractor is idleing. I was wondering if anyone knows if you are able to adjust the amount of flow through the remote. Thanks Jeff

I am not 100% sure about a 966, but I do not think the remotes are "adjustable"... You could have a leaking valve spool, check valve in the valve, bypassing relief valve, worn pump, partially blocked filter, failed oring on the suction tube... These are some things I would check out first.

Pull the rear pump and check that o-ring and gasket. They have a real nasty habit of leaking internally.

If you are satisfied that they are/were good, replace the pump.

While we are on this subject. I have a 1066 that does that when the 3pt. lever is in the far foward position.

If I move the lever back a ways every thing works just fine.

What position is your 3pt. lever in?

I believe the 3pt. lever gives you the ability to set the speed of the hydraulics.

Am I correct?

Hey Gary!

You're talking about the draft lever, right? Yep, it does control the speed of the remotes to a certain extent.

Got this toy of yours mounted the other day. Heavy built bugger, 'taint it? :>)

No Allan it does it with the lift lever. When it is all the way down the loader will move slow. If I lift the 3pt just a little it will work fine.

I carry a bale on the 3pt. at the same time as the loader. If I set the bale down and don't pull the 3pt back up a little I have slow lift on the loader.

Yep that blower is heavy and you need the weight sometimes when you spin out. Lift a little and you're on your way.
