fast hitch won't go down, where did I go wrong?

I took the valve assemblies off my 560 to rebuild them as they were leaking and I overhauled them according to my I.T. manual. Problem now is that when i moved the control lever the first time something snapped inside the valve. I found the gears for the control inside had some teeth missing, that weren't missing when I put it back together. I am not sure where I went wrong on it, as I followed the rebuild procedure in the manual on reassembly and have it timed according to their instructions. I got rid of the leaks but have a bigger problem now instead.

My question is what could I have put together wrong? Does the hitch need to be up or down when reinstalling the followup control or does it not matter? I realize with the gears broke it will not work, but was not sure what to look at when I get them and start putting it back together. I was hoping to be able to use this tractor during harvest season.

I called my Case dealer this morning and they said the gears are N.L.A. with the exception of one. but I need them all. Anybody got a good used set?

We had the same thing happen. Don't panic---call a parts yard---someone will have the parts. As to timing the gears to the drawbar---can't remember exactly how we did it, but we put the drawbar on a jack to have control of the raising & lowering.
It took a little watching & trying on the long lever that goes from the fast hitch up to the gears under the dash pedestal.
I'll look in the I&T tomorrow & see if there is anything mentioned about timing the gears. I think we just figured it out by watching the fast hitch & gears.

I'll be looking for your reply. I followed the timing procedure to the letter as far as I can figure, but with no luck apparently. I opened my email so you can shoot me an email if you like or just repost, either way.

Thanks
