Anyone know the ID No. for the pilot bearing between the input shaft and splined shaft. I can identify the others, but that one has me stumped.

Buy the real deal IH bearing. Twenty dollars saved on an aftermarket bearing is not much when you have to replace it with an IH bearing in a few weeks. Make sure the bearing surface inside the input gear is good too.... BTDT.

I tried a couple of bearing places with the old bearing in my hand, they couldn't find a replacement. Seems to be an IH exclusive. Any IH dealer can get it for you from their parts book.

Looks like you need the serial #.

38 1 43356DA BEARING TRANSMISSION MAIN SHAFT PILOT BEARING (Will work for ST702) (S/N 501 to 391357)
38 1 358036R91 BEARING TRANSMISSION MAIN SHAFT PILOT BEARING (Optional with 358035R91 and 358034R91) (S/N 391358 up)
38 1 358035R91 BEARING TRANSMISSION MAIN SHAFT PILOT BEARING (Optional with 358036R91 and 358034R91) (S/N 391358 up)
38 1 358034R91 BEARING, NEEDLE TRANSMISSION MAIN SHAFT PILOT BEARING (Optional with 358036R91 and 358035R91) (S/N 391358 up)

The first bearing listed, # 43356 DA, is a Hyatt # BU-1205 (Caged roller bearing, light, inner ring and roller unit.)

358034R91 is Bower # MU-5205-L.

358035R91 is Hyatt # BU-5205.

358036R91 is AETNA # RK 5205.

I bought one three years ago at a local bearing supplier; they gave me a "MU-1205-L" and it fit just fine. I can't remember the Manufacturer's name. My invoice just says "BCA Cylindrical Roller Bearing". Perhaps your local guy could x-ref. that number and find you one. My old bearing was well pitted and probably the worst of the ones I replaced. Good luck.

I get a nice discount from the bearing supplier that my employer uses but in this case the bearing turned out to be quite a bit cheaper at my IH dealer!! Go figure. I think it was around 18 bucks a year or two ago.

thanks for the replies. Tractor's serial No. FBH 64500. looks like I should replace all the gear box bearings, what I pulled out all seem a little too loose.
