I sold my 57 300U including the parts tractor I had for it. The new owner picked up the 300U 2 month ago but the parts tractor is still here. I told him , when he pick up the 300U, the parts tractor could sit here for a week or so but that was it. I don't know where he lives or his phone number. I have tried to find him with no luck and I am getting tried of looking at the parts tractor. I want to send it to the scrap yard cause it is a real pain to move and work around. Does it sound like I am being unreasonable???

I guess it would depend on how definate you were on the "week or two" phrase. I know with me, a week or two goes by seemingly in a flash. I would say time just got away from him and he didn't realize how serious you were in wanting everything cleaned up. I cant know your storage situation but I guess if it were me I would try to pull it out of the way, if possible, then wait another month. Then if you have made attempts to track him down and feel good about your efforts, then scrap it.

Another thing to consider, if it's just a hulk with few usable parts, it might not be worth the cost of the gas to come back after it. But he should have let you know.

Good luck, Gene

Rather than scrap it, why not just market it the same way you did before? Figure out what it would cost to advertise, then charge that amount. Put the words, "original buyer abandoned, must remove immediately" in the ad. If it doesn't bring out the original buyer, it will certainly sell quickly, and worst case you are out a few dollars for advertising.

Please don't scrap it. Let us know if there are any useable parts. You may make some money and some tractor owners happy.

Don't know the laws where you are but in most states you have to give them 90 days to pick it up. After that it is your to do as you want with it. Now after the 90 days I would find some one on here or who collects tractors and sell it to them. To me there is no such thing as a scrap tractor and there has to be some good parts left on it that may be hard to buy from a dealer or after market. Shoot if you are close enough I might take it off your hands

In all likelihood you have been left holding the bag. I've seen it a number of times. After a period of 2 months I wouldn't have any qualms about getting rid of it.
