Ok I know this is the wrong forum but you guys are the best for help and answers. Any way I bought this 49 MH pony from aguy that said they rebuilt it and could not get it to start after. I have had it about a year working on it, on and off. I have checked everything and I found that the coil was wired backwards. I got the fuel system cleaned up and got it to start but the carb needed some work. I got the carb rebuilt and put it on tonight and it runs like a top. I got it out and drove it up and down the drive. What a great thing when you get that first run. Any way I need to change the oil it the trans, and the book tells me how much I need but not what type of oil to use can any one help out and lt me know Thanks in Advance Steve

likely 80-90 gear oil should be fine.

It's very likely that anything labeled "gear lube" would be appropriate. These old tractors are not very fussy about the lube they get. In fact as long as it is dino-based, slippery and liquid, it will work just fine.
