IH 460 Utility Fast hitch hydraulic problem

I have an International 460 diesel utility tractor and the fast hitch (converted to 3 pt) does not raise up as far as it should. The adjustment lever is not on the dash like most 460's but on the right hand side of the seat. The other two remote levers are on the dash. Here is the problem-- with the lever in the all the way up position the hitch is about 3/4ths up, with the lever in the half-way position, the hitch is all the way down. If I put the lever down further, the hitch wants to go down more but cannot because it is already down. There has to be an adjustment somewhere but I cannot find it. I don't understand completely how it all works. Any suggestions?

Bob, there should be a follower linkage on the left side of the rockshaft. the earliest models used a cable system, which I amnot familiar with but suspect that it uses the same theory as the rigid, in that it adjusts just outside of the seat mounting box at which point it goes into the box and then forward to the valve unit. adjust the length of the rod between the rockshaft and the pivot lever that goes into the bos. You may have to remove the seat to get in to do the job HTH

Yes, there is a rod with an adjustable end where it goes into the pivot lever. This rod may be slightly bent, or maybe it is supposed to have a small arc in it. Either way, I can probably take it apart with the help of WD40 and adjust it.
Thanks.
