i work at a case ih dealer, we had a 1973 1466 come in on trade bad ta, pto doesnt work, tin is straight, brand new tires, shifting is tight, around 1000 hours on new engine, a/c doesnt work
my question is what is it worth, sorta want one to restore/take home to farm with figure might be cheap hp

If that dealer don't sell it to you at a fair price when you work there,I don't ever want to buy one from him.

What is he asking for it? He should know what it is worth.

In good working order it would bring 9 or 10,000 here. So subtract for the repair cost.

6K isn't a bad price. If you put 3 to 4K into it you should have a pretty good tractor. I have a 1976 Black Stripe. It is really a work horse.

Six sounds like a fair price. If you want to hold off on the TA you can live without it and it does have a rebuilt engine, a plus for sure.

2 years ago I bought a 1466 in pretty much the same condition (e.g. A/C out, TA weak, PTO out, 500 hours on motor rebuild, etc) and paid 10k. Now it also included duals, new rear radial tires and a 12 foot chisel plow. So I'd say probably 8k is a fair price.
