Super A Hydraulics leak?

This may be a dumb question but...i filled my Super A hydraulic reservoir with fluid this past spring. Well yesterday the lift arms drooped and when I tried to get them back up nothing happened. So I took the fill plug off and stuck my finger in the reservoir and found no fluid. Soooo, where did it go? Nothing was leaking out. The external lines and seals are all good. Where would it leak internally? Into the rear end? Is there an internal seal that’s gone bad? Any help is much appreciated.

If it's like the cub it leaked into the engin quick fix o ring sorry don't remember exactly where but it's somerwhere down near the stearing box. check engin oil it's probably high.

If there's no obvious and exessive external leaks, it's likely the seals in the pump have failed and run down into motor. Don't know about the SAs, but there were two types of pumps available on the SCs. Seals ere different on each type, but once you identify what you've got, they're pretty easy to come by and not that bad a job to change out. Biggest pain in the neck is priming the piping from the pump to the reservoir after replacing the seals.

Cue, I agree about the source of the leak.

Here's a pic of the pump and the arrow is to the part of the body that contains either an O-ring or a seal, depending on which type of pump you have.
Mine had a somewhat faint stamped-part number on the body of the pump, and I had to scrape some paint to find it. My IH dealer had a rebuild-kit for the pump, and contains everything you need to re-do the pump.

Hydraulic oil that gets past that barrier will go forward and into the engine.
Here's the front of the pump and the 'driven' gear that runs off the cam gear. That gear is keyed, and comes off after the removal of the nut and washer. My washer was bent to hold the nut from turning, as seen by the arrow. The seal/ring goes around that shaft, internally.

Here's a pic of the whole shebang in pieces, (and the rebuild kit) with an arrow to the shaft. Word of caution, you have to make sure everything goes back in from where it came out, and in the correct orientation, so be meticulous when you take it apart.
The tricky part is checking the shaft by where the seal/o-ring sat on it. If a groove was worn into the shaft, you may need a speedi-sleeve or such, to get it back to tolerance or not cut-up the new seal/o-ring, so it won't leak after all your work.

Here's my old o-ring. Guess it had seen it's best days!

Wow ! Thanks P&R so much for the info and pictures. Guess i may have some work to do but nice to know a rebuild kit is available. Thanks again.
