super c engine casting....

I have an engine block for a super c with the casting number of 251069 R1. Is this a 123 or a 113 block. The piston diameter is 3 and 1/8 inches. What makes a block 123 instead of a 113? Thanks

The Super C used the 354898R1 block and the sleeves measured 7-1/16" in length and 3-7/16" in diameter at the seal. They came from the factory
with 3-1/8" pistons and the block would accept an over bore kit of 3-1/4" pistons to boost the cid to 133cu-in. Your block I think is the C113cid
and has had an overbore kit installed at one time
to boost it to 123cid. The Super C's had water pumps too. Your sleeves probably measure 6-7/8" in length and measure 3-5/16" in diameter at the seal. Hal

IT does have a water pump on it. Was this block replaced at some time? Does the piston size make it a 123 cid? The tractor is a super c.

I think that engine may not be the original. Look under No1 sparkplug for a flat surface on the block for the engine serial number. Super C's SN started at 100001. The piston diameter and stroke determines the cid. The A's, Super A's, B's, C's and Super C's all had the same stroke and if they came from the factory with 3.0" pistons they had the C113 engine which could be increased to 123cid with new 3-1/8' pistons & sleeves. You have the 123cid engine now, but your engine may not accept the 3-1/4" pistons like the 354898R1 block would. You will still have enough power with the C123 engine. I had a Super C and it would pull the 2-bottom plow with the fasthitch easily. Hal
