Farmall B Motor ?s

I have a Farmall B with what I beleive is a super c engine. What is the best way to tell other than the serail number? I was wondering if there is a torque pattern for torqueing down the head? Also, what is the torque supposed to be? I have heard 65, 80 and 90, althought most say 80. And if the only difference in a b/Super C motor is the hydraulic pump mount can I put hydros on it?

Bs never had hydro, so if it has a plate below the governor, it has a non stock engine. The engine should have a C123 cast into the area near the oil filter. If it does not, it could be a 113 cid from a super A or C all of which (to my recollection had hydro. Hydro can sure be installed if it has the blockout plate. The hydro tank will not fit under the gas tank on some models, but a seperate reservoir, and valving for an open center system is fine. JimN

Yes you can put the C pump on but you will need an extension on the out-put shaft of the steering sector as the pump needs clearence from the u-joint on the steering shaft. I have made one for that purpose.
