SMTA Diesels

Just got back from the Menno (SD) Red Power Show. Parade, demos, Pull, lots of good stuff. Trailered the new H resto down there. Out of the 100 or so Farmalls, there were three that were fully restored. My H, A "B" (Super B Decals, I told hem he should have had "Superb B" decals made, with an international V8 radical cool, nice job, and a SMTAD.

So I spent some time with the owner of that #1 SMTAD. He said he was offered 14K for it and turned it down. I said I thought it was the right move.
We talked to another SMTAD owner that was pulling. He paid 9700 for his, in barn condition, at an auction 3 months ago. I asked the owner of the #1 if he could turn the barn condition tractor into one like his for 7000, and he said "No Way". So the consensus is that a #1 SMTAD is now worth north of 16K.
Discussion?

Based on my limited experience it costs $4-5000-up to refurbish (I won't use the term "restore" as it is cost prohibitive) about any letter series, diesels will be higher. I will probably never own a SMTA, diesel or otherwise because the initial price is too inflated for me.
