140 One Arm Loader

I am going to look at a 140 loader this week end. The seller says it is in good shape except for the hoses. How usable is the loader? Is it worth $600? What parts are needed to hook it up?

I have 4 140s they are a super tractor .As far as putting a loader on one ,well its better than a shovel or a pitch fork but you have to be carefull the engine is offset and they are light in the rear end. A guy i know had one he tried to move some thing to heavy for the loader and ended up breaking the engine block.They also tip over easily. Good luck with your tractor.

My brother had a one arm loader on his 140, very hard to steer too.

if it is an INTERNATIONAL 1000 loader with no welds, straight, decent bushings, all there
1600-2800 depending on private sale or dealer selling it
paint, condition of hoses, condition of cylinders, effect the price

The one I am interested in is in Louisiana without a Tractor. I already have a couple of 140s.

If you can get a one-arm 1000 loader in decent shape for $600, jump on it. They've been traditionally worth 3 to 4 times as much, though who knows now with the economy...

I've got one on my Super A, and it's handy for yard work. Just remember, it's not a crane, it's not a backhoe, and it's not a bulldozer. 300-400lbs, maximum, and do not under any circumstances attempt to intentionally push anything that's attached to the ground. Moving piles of loose dirt, manure, yard debris, snow, are all within the capabilities of the tractor and loader. Digging a hole... NO! Pushing out stumps... NO! If it doesn't move when you push against it, STOP.

Vacherie: Come on, your smarter than that, don't put a loader on an offset Farmall, the whole front end including engine block is tooooo light. I doubt if they pick up much more than 500#.

I am not going to see the one arm loader. From the feedback from y'all about the 140 being too light plus the fact that I wouldn't know if all the parts were there I will call the guy and pass.
But they do look nice.
