Well, if I have to rebuild a W6 anyhow...

...how much piston do I have to put into this machine to get 40-45hp on the belt? I'm thinking 400 or 450 pistons might do the trick. However, I don't want to tear up the rear end, over heat the engine & make sure the engine is getting plenty of mix. Will the W6 pull a 4 bottom plow & not suffer the same problems that plagued the 560? I guess I'm not too concerned about the plow. But, I need the most out of my pulley. Any suggestions about piston, carb size & anything else I might need for the project would be appreciated. Thanks - Mike

The standard overbore sleeve and piston kit with 4 inch pistons will get you 45 to 46 HP. No other mods needed. Depending on your soil types, and how deep you want to plow, A 4 bottom plow might be stretching things a bit. You and the W6 will be much happier with a 3-16s plow.

The soil we have around here is a sand-clay loam. It might be a litte easier to plow, but, I'm not going to risk it with 4 bottoms. Especially after I put an engine back together & it runs! I'm happy to hear that the overbore kit will give me enough belt power. As confident as I am about my H, there's not enough power there to run a loaded seperator. Thanks for the help - Mike
