Farmall H oil filter recommendation

baldwin makes a good filter if you dont have a case i-h dealer nearby. early h ran a balwin pt70, late h ran the baldwin pt71 from serial number 121022 up.

I hope I don't rub anyone the wrong way here but..........With regards to filtration, opinions mean little. There is factual information out there and more important standards established by SAE(Society of Automotive Engineers). The best laymans terms info I have found is at this web site http://www.calsci.com/motorcycleinfo/Filters.html#OilFilters. Forget that it is motorcycles. The points of his info are right on for the most part. If you can find a Pureone that will work there is no better filter for the money. If you doubt this web site or me go to the SAE web site and look at the info.

The best thing you can do to extend engine life is to prefilter your oil. All it takes is a simple filter block in line with your oil pump. Oil is not clean out of the drum regardless of what anyone thinks. It does not matter the brand. I am in the Industrial Hydraulics industry and I am Fluid Power Certified by The Fluid Power Society.

It really is amazing what the Case IH dealers still stock. The Case IH dealer in my wife"s home town (Onawa, IA: Vetter Equipment) had the gasket in stock for the water jacket cover for my 1951 M. He said, rightly, that there are a bunch of these old tractors still at work on the farms.

Oh, I really want to come back on this, but I aint. I will say this, these are motorcycles, or cars or some sophisticted peice of equipment, and a high dollar filter just isnt needed or required in this situation. Im not knocking you one bit, you eveidentally know what youre talking about, but I dont think you Farmalls as much as you think you do. No disrespect intended bud!
