Long Term StoragePlanning

Planning on putting a couple of tractors in long term storage, like 2-3 years. Any ideas on what to do like gas tank, fogging, or oil in cyl. Any advise would be appreciated.

Drain the gas tank and carb. I would also put some oil on top of the pistons. My old Super M would have been a lot more expensive if someone had done that. They didn't, so moisture got between the piston and cylinder wall and created just enough surface rust to stick it.

Oil in the cylinders, drain the gas tank and also put some oil in it to help keep it from rusting. A spray type oil in the tank works well because you can cover more of it. If you can also set it up on blocks to take the weight off the tires so if they do go flat they will be less likely to crack from sitting. If stored where mice could be a problem if you set it on blocks lay some sheet metal between the blocks and hanging over the edges of them so mice will not be able to climb the blocks and mess with wiring etc.

Once you have the cylinders oiled as suggested bump the engine over one full revolution and oiled them again. You should be ok with the other suggestions. Hal
