Hello any ideas to keep brakes from squeeling after they warm up, i had the drums turned and and new brake bands, when i take covers off there is always burnt dust between band and drum and smells. any help would be apprecitied Thank You

The two H's that I grew up on did that all the time, I think that its a natural phenomena. If you don"t have any oil or grease inside the drums, & the brakes stop the wheel when you want them to, don"t worry about it. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)

There is an adjustment screw on the bottom of the brake cover. That screw may turned in too far, which will make the bottom of the band continually rub on the drum, or that screw may not be turned in far enough, which will allow the TOP of the band to drag on the drum. Somehow or other, through trial and error, you need to find a happy medium.

Thank You!!! having it explained that way sounds like where ive been and where i need to go Thanks again T

I agree that the adjustmenmt screws are probably to blame. My manual says "do them up until they are just tight then back them off half a turn". Thats always worked for me. Make sure you tighten the lock(jam)nut properly or you will have the same problem again in a short while. MTF

Ajusted brakes today > The ajusting screws did the trick > Thanks to all who responded you all made my day > it's a joy to drive. T
