1950 farmall H

I have a 1950 farmall H that I removed the head last year to have reworked. I stuffed rags in the tops of the pistons to keep the dirt out. Was in the process of building a house so the tractor sat in the shed all winter and most of the summer before I got back to it only to find out that the pistons are stuck. there is no rust in the piston wall at all and are very clean. Any ideas how to get it unstuck? The tractor is in really good shape and I am planning on restoring it, hopefully within the nect year...

They can get stuck from sitting, just put some PB Blaster in each cylinder and tap the starter button and it might turn over again. Just don't hold the starter on for long, just a very short time or you will damage the starter and battery cables.

Put any good penetrating oil, transmission fluid ok,let it set a couple of days and jack up a rear wheel. Put it in 5th gear and rock the wheel.Unless it`s really bad this should do it.

I use ATF in all the tractors I buy that are locked up. So far out or 20 plus all but 2 have freed up. One way to speed it up if you can do it safely is fill the cylinders almost full then add a table spoon of gas to it and light it up, do that 2 or 3 times. Then set a 12 volt battery on it and use short fast taps on the starter and it will probably pop free in just a couple hours. BTDT many many times. Oh by the way do not try to spin it when its still burning or you will have trouble. Let it burn till it burns out then try to spin it
