I"ve been working on a 1948 I-9 for the past couple of months in my spare time and we finally got it running and driving a few weeks ago so i figured i"d post a picture of my progress so far. So far we had to swap the engine out for a U-9 powerplant engine due to the original having set outside with the valve cover and hood off for a long time span before i got it. She was locked up tight and full of water... also we put in a new clutch freed up all of the linkage and removed the rotted homemade cab...

Yes it is i really enjoy working on these old IH's it's been a hobby of mine since age 12 when i bought and restored my 48' cub i'm 21 now and have the cub the i-9 2 1940 h's and a 43' h, i had a W-9 a few years back but the head was bad and couldnt get one at the time so i sold it, the 9's are a lot of fun to work on everything is nice and simple and heavy...
Thanks
Dave

Looks good, keep us updated on the progress!

Looks kinda funny with those small rear tires - almost like a -6 instead of a -9...

There is an I-9 with big tires next to the road I have been trying to buy for 20+ years.
It's hooked to a big 4 wheel rubber tired scraper/earth mover. Also a 5020 JD right beside it.
Old lady says her son will use them one day.
need I say more?
