I'm sure I'll file this away in the DA file after I get it fixed.

I pulled the manifold on my 560 gas, to fix the exhaust pipe. The exhaust pipe had broken off from the exhaust manifold. After I reassembled everything, she only starts with starting fluid and the throttle wide open, but no choke. Once it does start she sputters and spouts, and stalls under load.

What did I take out of sync in the carb when I pulled the manifold, and how do I fix it?

Thanks,

Matt

Did you use a new intake manifold gasket? Clean the mating surfaces? Tighten the bolts or nuts evenly? Hold your hand over the throat of the carburetor and have someone make an attempt to start the engine. See if there's good suction on your hand while cranking. Hal

Try spraying starting fluid around the gaskets. If that makes it rev up you've got leaks. Also check the main jet (five turns out, if I recall correctly). You might also have gunk in the carb or fuel line.
