IH model FC stalling

I have a 1946 IH model FC.
It runs okay until it warms up at which point it dies.
I checked the fuel system ( gasoline ) and everything is fine. I cleaned the gas tank and the fuel line and it looks good.
Therefore it must be electrical.
Any ideas ?

Just a guess but I think it is the coil. Ron

If you Carefully feel the coil when it stops, you will (probably) find it to be very hot (too hot to keep a finger on for two seconds. If so it is the problem. JimN

The IH model FC, aka Farmall C, were made from 1948 - 1951.

I don't know a lot about this stuff so thanks
for any help guys.

However, a friend claims it has a magneto
instead of a coil.
If it does have a coil, where is it located?

The coil is inside the magneto. Check for spark at the plugs when it quits.
