Battery suggestions

Looking for input on a good battery for a farmall super A that has been converted to a 12 volt. How many C.C.A. should I look for?

Be looking at what will fit the battery box. A group 26 is about the largest that I have found to fit. Don't recall what the rating is, but it's PLENTY.

Measure the box then go buy the battery that has the most CCA you can find that will fit and you will be more then happy with it, if its good that is. I have got brand new battery's that would not turn over any thing

I am going out to get one myself, what is meant by 'Group 26'? Would autozone or any auto parts supplier carrry one, or should I go to the likes of Tractor Supply? Thanks!

I would go to Autozone or NAPA. Maybe there is someone at AZ that knows what a Group 26 batt is without looking it up in their computer. Otherwise go to NAPA, Find the oldest guy there and ask him.

(quoted from post at 12:34:23 09/09/08) I have a Red Top in my Jeep and I sure do wish they made a 6 volt battery.

They sure do:

Have to have an Optima dealer that is willing to listen. optimabatteries.com

I put Optima in all my vehicles, will have to wait a few more years to see if they truly live up to all the long-lasting hype. I can tell you this much - they definitaly have more CCA than what I replaced in the same size case. My 6-volt H pictured above turns over like it has a 12-volt battery in it with that Optima!
