M Lift-All Question

The M that I recently inherited has a container, about 4-5 inches in diameter and about 12" long connected to the fill port of the lift-all system. It"s plumbed in with pipe fittings and comes out at about a 45 degree angle. Anyone know what is the purpose of this? The tractor had a loader on it (no longer). Was this a overflow reservoir to keep in extra oil after the lift cylinders emptied? Thanks for the help!

You have it right. Its to increase the capacity of the hydraulic system. I havent seen many of those, its pretty rare I would think.

Sounds like a hydraulic oil filter. I have one on the return for my model 30 loader on my M. It is 4-5 inches in diamater but only 6 inches long.

my H had 4x4 square tubing about a foot long with a plate welded to the two open ends one had a pipe coupling with a pipe plug to fill with the other end had a coupling welded in with a hose barb screwed in it for a hose to go the the belly pump fill site. i chunked the whole shebang when i added live hydraulics. ,if your not needing the extra capacity just remove from the tractor
