F6 Magneto help

My grandfather is working on an F20 at the moment and when we got it we were given a mag for it but we didnt notice at the time it was an F6 instead of an F4. My question is this. Is it possible to change this mag over internally to make it work on the F20? Someone told him if he changed the cap and did some things inside it would work as a 4 cylinder mag. I am a little skeptical on it, but want to know for sure if it can be done or not.

nope. two different critters. they have a different degree of advance in them that wont allow this change. if you need an F-4 mag, i have dozens of them, and would trade you for your F-6
