Farmall H--hydraulic fluid

Just wondering what to use in my Farmall H for hydraulic fluid and how much to put in. Someone I know uses 30 weight oil in his old tractor for hydraulic fluid. Any help would be great. Thanks.

they used 30 wt when they were new, you can still use that in there. i run hy-tran hydraulic fluid in all mine. that way if i hook something to any tractor, its all running the same fluid, and no contamination.

6 quarts of non-detergent SAE 30 was original spec.

The manual calls for 30 WT non-detergent motor oil in the belly pump, 6 quarts.
