F-12 Question - Radiator or Engine First ???

I am putting my F-12 back together from a pile of parts. Can I install the radiator before the engine, or will that make it more of a problem to install the engine later???

Trying to visualize the process both ways, and it looks like it might be a toss-up as to which one can be done first.

Don`t expect to have the engine ready before winter sets in, but want to get as many of the other parts back on the tractor as I can. I just hate to have to remove any parts, once they are in place and painted.

I think engine first cause one slip installing engine, etc. and you have to take out the radiator back out to fix it.

Yup, engine first.

Radiator isn't all that hard to install, not like the letter series. I've had the fan shroud off mine with everything else in place to change the fan shaft, and also took the radiator off to put a new core in it. Pretty easy, really, only thing in the way is the steering shaft which is easily removed.

Thanks to all for the info on the engine verses radiator first. Guess I will go ahead and get the radiator torn down and can at least get all its parts sand blasted, primed and painted. Then it will be ready to go when I am ready for it.

Spent most of the day sand blasting and prime painting lots of other parts. Only thing left on the main frame to put finish paint on is from the drive shaft on back.

The Gray paint goes on that section tomorrow. Will also spray all the small primed parts that got done today. Like to have as many parts to paint as I can when I set up and use the spray gun.

Sure feels good when the assembly of the parts starts to resemble a tractor again.
